Mercury
The closest planet to the Sun. Despite being so close to the Sun its temperature can range from bewteen about –200° C (–300° F) at night to about 400° C (750° F) during the day. Mercury is a barren planet that looks a little like Earth’s moon. There is virtually no atmosphere, and what little there is is pushed away from the planet by solar winds to create a tail similar to that of a comet. Mercury has no moons.
