Jupiter is the biggest planet in the Solar System. It is large enough to accommodate all the other planets put together inside it.
Jupiter is a gas giant and is made up of around 90 percent hydrogen and 10 percent helium plus a very small amount of other gases.
Jupiter spins very quickly creating bands of colour that can take the appearance of clouds. One of Jupiter's most well know features is the Great Red Spot that spins like a giant whirlpool, rotating every six days.
The large volume of gas is compressed around an iron core by huge gravitational forces. This results in a fantastically hot flowing mass that generates a powerful magnetic field and electric currents.
