Saturn is well know for the rings that orbit it. The rings are millions of particles ranging in size from tiny grains to large rocks. The rings are controlled and separated by some of the moons that orbit Saturn. The rings are only a few kilometers thick but extend for over seventy thousand kilometers into space.
Saturn is a Gas Giant made up of mainly hydrogen around an iron core. Deep clouds of ammonia and water cover Saturn and make it difficult to see what is happening at the surface.
